Have you ever heard the saying, “Man’s worst enemy is himself”? Lately, I’ve been experiencing this firsthand. It seems like I’ve lost control over myself.

The targets I set for myself often last only a few weeks before they fall apart due to procrastination. This habit of delaying things is detrimental, and I realize it’s a way I’m self-sabotaging.

This behavior has started to affect my work. I’ve lost the drive to improve, whether due to social media distractions or other reasons that make me feel too lazy to do the things I used to enjoy.

I’m unhappy with my current state, so I’ve decided to take a career break to rebuild my habits. My goals aren’t lofty — I just want to wake up early, go for a morning run, learn new things, and enhance my skills to regain my confidence.

Making this decision hasn’t been easy, especially considering I’m no longer young and, as part of the sandwich generation, I still have many responsibilities.

However, I believe that investing time in myself now will pay off in the long run. By focusing on small, manageable changes, I hope to create a more disciplined and fulfilling life. It’s not just about career growth but also about personal growth and well-being.

As I embark on this journey, I’m reminded that setbacks are part of the process. What matters is the persistence to keep moving forward and the willingness to adapt and improve continuously.

I hope to inspire others who might feel stuck to take a step back and consider their habits. Sometimes, a little self-reflection and a break from the routine can lead to significant positive changes.

In conclusion, rebuilding good habits is an ongoing journey that requires patience, dedication, and self-compassion. Let’s embrace the challenge and strive for a better version of ourselves each day.
